A4 Bag

2001, 2005, 2012

The A4 Bag was initially designed for female architects as a purse capable of holding personal items along with a roll of permit drawings for trips to and from the Building Department. As architectural projects have grown more complex, requiring multiple large rolls of drawings for plan checks, the concept of the bag was revised to meet the everyday needs of design professionals. Crafted from full-grain, belt-weight Latigo Leather* and 100% wool felt, the A4 Bag features a double-layer construction. The space between the layers allows for convenient storage and easy access to paper documents, keeping them separate from smaller personal items.

The orange A4 Bag offers a more humorous take on design by bringing attention to everyday materials through the creative displacement of their typical applications. It is crafted from a flat piece of basketball leather, custom-tanned by the material supplier of NCAA and NBA official game balls.
